If I wear a thumb ring, it is because that is the only digit the ring fits on. I wear it on the thumb it is most comfortable on. But then, I am not fashionable. If there is a secret language of thumb rings amonst women, I have surely committed a faux pas.

It just means that she prefers wearing it on that hand as opposed to the other.
