I'd just try to remember the feeling I got when I heard that my Aunt died along with our family house that burned to ashes ten years ago. . . I still shake my head in mourning

Watch a sad movie or think of the sad times you've had in the past e.g. Loss of a parent, dear relative or friend, who died suddenly or under tragic circumstances, or a boyfriend / girlfriend who cheated on you or ditched you.

You're right though that it is necessary to have a good cry once in a while - this has been proven scientifically, by Dr. William Frey and I quote below from his research work:--

"The reason people feel better after they cry is they are removing in their tears chemicals that build up during stress,' says Dr Frey. `Emotional crying is an excretory process, and as with every other excretory process, it is removing something we do not need. Even crying in response to an irritant in the eye is for the purpose of removing something the body does not want.'

Actually I find it very easy to cry and do it frequently as a performer. For those that find it difficult to "cry on que" I suggest that you think of something very sad; a personal issue you would rather die than be involved in. Make it PERSONAL. As for your not being able to cry, many people who take anti-psychotic medications (such as anti depressants or anti hallucinogens) have difficulty with this. You may wish to speak with your physician or psychiatrist about the problem. If you are taking a medication that can affect you emotionally then perhaps you need to change meds. If not, maybe you have an apathetic type of disorder. I wish you the best.

Do what I did a few years ago when I was having some difficulty crying. I went without food for 5 days. I then looked at the obituaries in the newspaper and found all the fuenrals and wakes that was going to be happening that weekend.

I invited myself to all of them and spent my time consoling people who were inconsolable. That did it. You will cry like a baby.

Listening to certain kinds of music or watching sad movies might help. Think of someone you loved very much who is no longer here and how much you miss that person. Otherwise, I don't know how I can help you.

It may sound strange, but in your own personal life you might be "too" sad or "too" angry/hurt to cry. I pray for the peace of God to rest upon your heart so that your true, deep emotions can finally be released.

read the book, 'i know this much is true' or watch the movie, 'the piano' or 'the way we were.' search online for county agencies 'advertising' older kids in desparate need of parents and read their descriptions. read what americans did to innocent people in our torture and murders in abu graihb and really really imagine and think about what we've done and what it means to what America stands for and can do for the world henceforth.

(for myself, I cry daily these days because my precious precious father died unexpectedly and suddenly recently and everything reminds me of him. i'd rather talk about him than not, tho, even if i cried all day.)

Why would you want to cry. If you are happy you are blessed. I understand though. Anyway, think of peoples living conditions and think of how blessed you are. If you have moved from family of friends think of the good times you had together.
