i am not the product of a rape, but rather the victim of such an assault, and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, who is the pride and joy of my life...he was a part of me, too...yes, it was difficult, yes it is still difficult, but through no fault of either one of us were we brought together, and that is our bond-not our strain..He is MY son, and we have our moments like everyone else, and i pray that he never wishes he was never brought into my world, for those who know him love him very, very much. I didn't know how I was going to do it, as i was only 18 yrs. old at the time, but when i saw his face, i knew i'd figure it out.

I agree abortion is brutal and god created all life for a reason, even if it was a result of rape. However, I must admit that it would be extremely stressful on a family in that situation because the mother would be constantly reminded of her horrific attack and the child would suffer. Also, what if the rape victim ws say, 14? They cant raise a baby on their own, even with the rare case of supportive parents. It would be so much to bear. But also, i think it would e even harer to be a 14 year old who was raped, got pregnant, then chose to do away with the child. the topic is just so large that we cannot automatically just assume that people who choose abortion are killers or that all abortion is wrong . But I dont like abortion either.

I'll put it to you this way....yesterday I held a 22 week gestation baby in my arms for over an hour because at our hospital it allows 2 trimester abortions. This baby had a strong heartbeat, good circulation and absolutely perfect (besides being the fact it was born at 22 weeks) but it was left to die (possibly alone if I wasn't there to hold him) because it MAY have had a birth defect.
How can we as humans decide who lives and who dies.
Yes, the baby did eventually die in my arms where it was loved for it quick moment in life, but could you imagine if it was given a chance.
I am pro-choice usually for many different reasons but these instances make you question WHY?

it is sad that happens but no i do not think a woman should be forced to carry out a pregnancy if it came from those circumstances
My husband was the result of a rape and I am glad he is here but he told me he would have rather been aborted when he was a child his life was hell. he does not think that now, but how would you like a child to grow up thinking that

I'm a moderate when it comes to this topic. I fancy myself a pro-life person but that is based on my religious beliefs. If someone were raped, say a 14 year old girl with her whole life ahead of her, who are we to judge her having a say she was not afforded by the rapist? In this case, I say the sin of the abortion is on the rapist!

IS THIS A QUESTION OR A RANT FROM A PRO-LIFER WHO WANTS TO BE HEARD? LET ME GIVE YOU my ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION, SINCE ITS AN OPINION QUESTION. IF I WERE THE CHILD, OF COURSE I WOULD WANT TO BE ALIVE, I WOULD ALREADY HAVE A CONCIENCE MIND FORMED, AWARE OF MYSELF AND MY WORLD. BUT IF I WERE THE VICTOM OF RAPE OR INCEST I DO NOT KNOW IF I COULD BEAR THE PAIN OF BEING PREGNANT WITH MY ATTACKER'S SEED. I DO NOT JUDGE BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN THERE. IT IS BECAUSE OF CASES INVOLVING RAPE AND INCEST THAT I BELIEVE THAT HAVING A CHOICE IS CRUCIAL. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES. PRO-CHOICE.

you certainly have the right to your opinion but the truth is that can't just say their is "...no choice about it. life begins at conception and god blah blah blah..." I'm glad that you have a life that you want and are glad u were not aborted but the truth is that alot a children from rape/incest have shitty lives.

My aunt was raped and became pregnant at 12 by her mother's brother. I don't see how this is even a question. She didn't murder her child. He is 42 now and she loves him the same as she loves her children she had during marriage.

I agree because it's not the childs fault, abortion is murder of poor little babies who can't defend themselves. It would be very hard for the mum being raped etc & having to carry the baby 9 mths etc but then again it points back to it's still not the babys fault & no excuse to murder

Say whatever you want. You aren't changing any minds. They people who support you will think you are so smart and witty, and those who don't will just think you are some anti-abortion nut-job making noise.
