Cry for attention, most likely. Some say just want to fit in... which would eliminate the cry for attention theory... Guess I don't know. In my life, it just meant I hadn't grown into my older sister's clothes yet. Wonder how much time and effort was wasted pulling them up all the time. Oh well....

What an who are the role models for our young of today? It is definitely not the parents, for they have to sacrifice the time to spend with them to work that extra job.It is definitely not the churches ,since there is so much talk of molestation and fraud that there is no belief, and where is it that we allow our women to be serenaded by an artist that describes her attribute sophistical as a lesser dog,we have taken the basis under which this country was founded and turned it upside down, the belief in God,crime among youths is up and so is pregnancies and self destruction, remember when we had to walk upright with poise to represent the name of our families,if you tell a young person today that it helps with his self esteem ,he will have a laughing fit ,since cool is to degrade one,s self until there is no more self respect, what,s next?

Just another fad. Every generation has a way of dressing that is different than the last. Mine was the 70's with hip huggers and clog shoes and the guys had long hair. It is just what happens with each new one. I do agree with you though. Sometimes I just want to walk up to them and pull up their pants! LOL!

i see a lot of kids doing it. i guess it's the hip hop thing. the blacks started it as a fashion thing in the music industry. everyone is doing it now. the hispanic the whites and the indian guys. i work in a group home and that's how they dress sometimes. it sometimes tells the kind of person they are and sometimes it's just teenagers and their fashion. they will stop when they can't land that job cause some people wil think they are gangsters.

I can only guess it's because our society has lead them to beleive it's ok. Besides all the popular hip-hop Artist set the trends and guess what... the parents are dumb enough to purchase their music, posters, and whatever else they're trying to promote and as long as they buy it for their kids they too are promoting that style.

That is the style in some places. It's a fad that a lot of kids have picked up. Once the style goes out..which I don't see happening, then you won't have to deal with it. Until then...If you don't like it, don't look.

No idea. Did you know the trend actually started in prison. The man-wife wore their pants like that so that their 'boss' didn't have to pull 'em down.

I ask myself the same thing. No one wants to see their "Fruit of the Looms"! Isn't it uncomfortable to keep pulling your pants up? And another thing I don't get, is why they wear a belt, if their pants are hanging off of them????
