I would LOVE to be able to play the song Lady So Devine by Shinedown... The solo in that song is absolutely amazing... I definitely think that would be a good song to learn!!!
& like people have said before me, Smoke on the Water is good too... I'm also pretty much in love with Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult...

Try "Heart Full Of Soul" by The Yardbirds. The early Clapton stuff is a good place to start. Then you can move on to some Cream like Sunshine Of Your Love or White Room.
