You could record your playing in Audacity, which is a great free Recording and Sound Editing Software that you can download free of cost from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
You can also download the evaluation version, free of cost, of Keyboard Music 2.4 from
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Fun/Keyboard-Music.shtml
This nifty little piece of software converts your computer keyboard into a synthesizer and you can even play your virtual guitar using the keyboard with it!
At just $15 for the full license, this will probably be much cheaper than the physical jack that you'd need to buy to connect your real time guitar with your computer.
All the best.
Cheers

Your sound card has input jacks. You just have to match the jacks between your guitar and the sound card. Radio Shack will sell you the conversion plugs. Then you need some audio recording software. Soundblaster offers a whole suite of audio edit/record options. As well as any videocapture software like Nero or Adobe Premiere.

Use Sound Recorder under Accessories and direct the output from your guitar to the line-in for the mike. You might need a converter. Try Radio Shak!

This is what I do all the time:
Go to http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/ and download the free 7 day trial (you can email me for the code to unlock it's unlimited use aftwerward if you want also). After you have the trial up and running, just plug the guitar into your amp, then route your amp into your computer's microphone jack. That's it. Crank it up!

Okay, all the previous suggestions were good...just don't run anything powered directly into your computer because you'll burn out the input of your laptop.

A Roku, Boxee, or Apple TV will do. Some game consoles, Blu-Ray players, or even TVs can.

I think you need software for that. I'm not sure. That would be cool if you figured it out. Good luck.
