black widows normally live where they can find food easily, also their web is very thick, so you should be able to find them easily, they are a nocturnal spider, unless their web is shaking for food..... please clean up as much as possible and i assure you if you find all the webs, you should find the eggs, "please kill the momma before it babies, their also very very aggressive if you take out it's nest...." i live in the IE in California and you can't get rid of all of them... but you can minimize, like for instance make sure there's caulking around your windows, doors, floorboards, normally here you won't find them in the attics because of the heat 140+ in the attic... take all the precautionary measures, when killing them like elbow high/ thick rubber gloves, they normally can not penetrate them, long sleeves, pretty much cover all your skin... then just kill and clean up their mess, it took me 12 hours to do my house and i still get one every now and then, i think I've seen 2 in 2 years now. i hope this helped you

I used an Ortho product and sprayed the outside of the house laying down a 3" perimeter and also use a 3" perimeter in the inside of your house. Once the spider crosses the perimeter it is dead or dieing. They usually live in very dark places, you should watch for erratic webs, they do not make a web like a ordinary spider, the webs are very erratic, the smaller ones are the males and the bigger ones are female. I suggest you get a very good over the counter spray or call a professional. We have recently dealt with this problem and it is a very serious thing especially if you have children. Look up on the Internet the signs on what to look for if bitten and be vigil in watching for the signs. They are very dangerous to young children and pets. Hope this helps you, you should be very concerned.

i'm not sure that there is any sure fire way to get rid of them once and for all. every time you kill the old ones new ones are going to come in and take their place. kill the new arrivals and more will be there to take their place.

spiders lay thousands of eggs so there is always going to be a fresh supply of black widow spiders around.

about the only thing i could suggest is kill them yourself with a bug spray or hire an exterminator to come out once a month and spray your home for you. that's what my folks did. they had an exterminator come out and spray for spiders and carpenter ants. they got a bad infestation of carpenter ants in their attic and they did a lot of damage to the wood up there before they were discovered--so my folks had the damage fixed and then signed up with Orkin.

Use a spray bottle with bleach. Also use a garden sprayer that you pump up to spray bleach around your house at where the ground meets the house. No bug likes bleach. Keep doing this once a week. Bleach is water soluble so there won't be any problems with ground contamination.

The best way to rid yourself of these creatures is to get rid of anything sitting around your home undisturbed, ie; bricks, wood, garbage, etc. They love garages and fences. Keep you garage and cupboards swept regularly and spray bug/spider spray to keep the bugs down. Plug holes in the concrete or anywhere around your home with sealer or caulk and replace broken siding. You will need to be diligent about it to get them to stay away. I lived in California growing up and they were everywhere, so I know what you are talking about. This is what we found works the best. Just be careful.

If u have a lot of clutter, then try to get rid of it or get better organized. They like dark places so if there is a lot because of clutter creating little nooks and crannies for them to crawl into, then chances are, they've already started breeding. that could be why there is so many.

This happened to me once. Are you generally finding then near the same place? I did, and started looking around in that area. Found a nest with hundreds of them in it.
Then gassed the nasty little critters.

I'd call an exterminator the first time because these spiders scare me. I'd pick his brain about how to control them, their habits and life cycle, and how to avoid getting them and take preventative measures to keep them from coming back.

If you can see 20, I'd hate to know how many there are that you cant see. I think I might call a professional. Dont want those suckers biting you in your sleep.
