There were actually about seven Cleopatra's, though the one most commonly thought of is Cleopatra VII (69–30 BC). Personally, I think she was quite intelligent. As for being a two-timer, perhaps that was just part of her plan.

Depends on the source. Augustus(Octavian) said two timer in Res Gestae. Make sure you have the right one last of the Ptolemaic rulers of Egypt.
