was it skipping/missing? How overheated did it get? May have burnt some gaskets, but you've got a rotary engine so it's more complicated. Check for the 3 basic things needed to run. Sparking spark plug, supply of fuel, and air.

If the car boiled over, and you had steam pouring out of the engine area, some of it may have condensed and created a short in the electrical system. If this is the case, it will most likely evaporate on its own soon and the problem will go away. If this isn't the case, you may have warped the engine, which isn't always fixable, but is usually expensive. If this is the case, it might be cheaper to get a different engine or car even if the engine is fixable. That would be for a mechanic to determine, so talk to one you trust, who knows rotary engines. One good question would be what caused it to overheat in the first place. That also might be what is causing it to not start now. Tank to a mechanic you trust who knows about rotary engines. Hopefully the fix is simple and inexpensive.

You could have your cooling system repaired but driving while overheating is damaging to your engine. Any condensation will cause shorts later if not already. Maybe it was something simple but now you certainly have more expensive repairs on your hands. Probably more than the car's value. I'd start looking for another car.

How long did you have it on when it was overheating?? Was the car sounding like it wanted to stall when it was over heating? Sounds like you cooked the heads on the car have a Mechanic take a look at it!!!
