No I disagree, The Rocka Billy King Of Rock And Roll, Jerry Lee Lewis! It started the rock and roll ages for everyone. INCLUDING ELVIS. I was raised in Memphis, believe me I know. Godfather is all true rock and roll. Before Chuck Berry and the rest!!!!. Look up your facts, I promise, he is the number ONE!

Well, in keeping with the "Godfather" theme, I offer two possible answers. First, "Little Steven" from Springsteen's band, fully Sicilian (Bruce is half-Italian.) and has the best syndicated Rock & Roll radio show ever! Second, Dion (DiMucci). Fully Italian and very influential for both Bruce and Steven. Basically, he was Springsteen, with a Bronx attitude, more than a decade before Bruce hit the scene. Take your choice. It's Dion for me and I'm quite certain the other two would agree.

James Brown is the Godfather of Soul, which in itself is a root of Rock and Roll, so I would say that it is James Brown.

Robert Johnson.
Blues Guitarist from the 20's/30's...
His stuff led to stuff which led to rock n roll...
Does that make him the Great-Godfather though? ;)
