,, My sister was qualified for a job in the court house, and should have gotten it when the other lady left, she had worked there part time all through her college years. But the reason she didn't was because she was white,,, they needed to put a black lady there for balance, to prevent trouble.. Well after my sister got a job in a lawyers office,, in less than 3 months,, the black lady wasn't working out and they let her go. They tried to get my sister back,, but she refused to leave where she was. To me that is discrimination, and there are others that have been done the same way, but we don't have the nnacp to come in and cause trouble.White people are discriminated against alot.

I would love to answer this question. Minorities dislike other ethnic backgounds also. A group of minorities can discriminate against a white just as easy. There are minority ran businesses and families who dislike other races. It is individual, but often taught. A white person can be treated differently by a black person just the same as a black person can be treated different by a white person. Many black people think everything is about color and many white people see nothing that they do is about color. It is all individual. Discrimination comes from all people of all races. Even the majority is the minority sometimes. I have been there before as I am sure you have. It is a shame of mankind that we cannot all come together.

You brought it up and asked for examples. Remember that. This is not being shoved down your throat.
Can you tell me the real difference between reverse discrimination and discrimination? Any different treatment based on racial heritage is discrimination. Adding the adjective reverse may soften the sound of it to the ignorant, but it's discrimination anyway.
Think of whites who did not get the college of their choice because of affirmative action and the poorly veiled discrimatory practice hailed as "diversity."
Consider the contractors who lose a job to a higher bidder because a minority contractor is required by law.
Think of the promotions that whites do not receive because a "token" minority is needed.
Think of all the civil service exams that are administered where minorities get 10% added to their score based soley on their heritage.
The white people who get "bumped" naturally have hard feelings, as do thier friends and families. At the same time, minorities feel entitled to this help because of brainwashing by liberal politicians. The children of Chinese Coolie labor don't seem to have this problem for some reason, though I don't really know why.
And socially, churches are still some of the most segregated establishments in the U.S. Why have the racial groups not assimilated each other? There are social problems as well as legal ones. People get upset with whites because they lock their car doors when driving through Watts. Are we really to believe that blacks don't lock their doors in Watts?
Whites shouldn't hear blacks call each other "n*****r" It typically used by blacks to refer to a less fortunate black who they dislike. But if a high-profile white person uses the term, there may even be a riot.
In college there is a Black Student Union, and a Gay Student Union for that matter. What do you suppose would happen if someone requested administration to allow formation of a White Student Union or a Heterosexual Student Union. After they said no, Hell would rain on that person. They would be ostracized and probably threatened, if not actually injured.
There is a sizable Afro-American middle class in the U.S. Still, many Afro-Americans live in poverty. Why is that? One clue might be found in the observation that Jamaican blacks tend to be of higher income and social status. They come from the same slave background. The difference, I think, is the liberal politics that abounds in America. Liberal politicians wand to keep the minorities dependent on them so that they can retain power. There is no intent to lift people from the ghetto, on the part of politicians. I'm sorry, that's just how I see it. Church groups, on the other hand, can do much more, especially African-American churches with help in terms of funds and manpower from the "white" churches. Big brother is the enemy of the people. We should fight for liberty at every turn.
I don't know about you, but I don't want my heart surgeon, my brake mechanic, or my kids school teacher to be an overacheiver based on discrimination, reverse or otherwise.
There are multitudes of competent people of all races. Yet some minorities will always be viewed as suspect as long as affirmative action continues.

Why can't they? I see it all the time. Just because you're a minority doesn't mean you can't be racist or discriminatory. Duhhhhh. ....here is a conversation example.
Black guy say "Whats up honky redneck cracker...hahaha...i'm just playing with ya man"...
White guy..."Whats up blacky shadow el *****.....hahaha"....I'm just playing with ya man.
Now use the golden rule. How does each party feel? Bad in both ways. What gives you the right to call people names and not for them to call you names, just because white's ancestors did something wrong doesn't mean people now (today) have the same mine set.
The question really is....Why do minorities feel like they are judged by their features and not their personality or the content of their character? If people would just utilize the "golden rule" for a change, they would feel what other feel. Next time you confront or socialize with another race, realize how you made them feel if you were in their shoes, presented with your actions.
Some people just don't like certain people because of their personality. Ex. If you act like a thug, being obnoxious, loud, offensive and THINK you're tough. Do you expect people to like you even though you're a jerk just because you're a certain race? Some say, its their culture to be that way which is false. Its not a culture, its a life style.
Basically, maybe its not skin color....maybe its your character.
You might say, not all people in a race do or act the same, but with MAJORITY act the same, people are just not going to take a chance acting nice to them, because basically they know what the out come will be. Maybe be a leader and be a role model, tell your own race to wise up.
As for African Americans, you can be black and proud, but other races can care less and they aren't even challenging you. But Who isn't proud of their own race. You're a strong black woman...but with an attitude...you will be a strong black and lonely woman. So just be kind and stay positive, people will notice.

It works the same way. How is a minority discriminated by a white person? Here is an example. A white person goes into a convenience store to pay for gas and pick up a quick drink and snack in a predominantly black area. If the clerk basically ignores them and takes care of other patrons ahead of them, even though they were there first, then they've been discriminated against.

I live in Georgia, and the way I see it is that discrimination is a viscious cycle. I don't know if it's just a southern thing, but there are a lot of whites around here that act like black people aren't as good as they are and that they don't deserve the same treatment as whites. I'm white, and I think it's just plain mean and ignorant for anyone to think that someone is beneath them just because of their skin color. I also see blacks going around with an attitude towards white people, and I just think sometimes their attitude is a result of how some whites treat them. In my opinion, no one is better than anyone else. We're all equals, right? The way blacks were treated before the CRA was unbelievably WRONG then, and it's even worse that some whites think that blacks still deserve inferior treatment. They didn't deserve it in the first place, and they certainly don't deserve it now. I think the actions of some white people towards black people create friction between whites who have done nothing wrong.

For the same reasons that minorities and whites alike have nothing more to do than to squabble over the scraps that the government is leaving them ,meanwhile all of the real jobs that are to promote self esteem as a nation is being shipped overseas to create a hole in our middle class so big that future generations cannot find it,so meanwhile we blame illegal immigration and unfair discrimination ,we should think twice when we buy something that is imported,we may be subscribing to our own demise until there is nothing more to fight over.

I was once told by an employer that he'd like to hire me for a job, but that he might be required to hire a black person instead of me. He said the pattern of hiring had to be:
black female, black male, white female, white male
To me that is discrimination. He was telling me that I was qualified for the job and he liked the way I presented myself in my interview, but that I might not be able to have the job because of the color of my skin. That is discrimination.
There is something here called the Black Pages. It is like the Yellow Pages, but contains listings for only black-owned businesses. If you won't frequent my business because I am not black, then you are discriminating against me.

Ms. Pamela:
With all respect due a member of our human race, and I give you credit as well for asking with tact and open mindedness.
Many so called "minorities" which are dark skinned are now gaining advantage, and many among them (you all, if you are dark skinned) are now using your advantages against whites and others who are not of your minority.
I have noticed Blacks treating Hispanics very very badly. I have seen Blacks rob and kill Hispanics. I have heard them bad-mouth Hispanics.
I've seen Blacks do the same to Whites.
I'm not white, but I've had Black people stare at me with hate, make fun of me for my thick glasses, ask me if I'm Jewish.
But for all that, do I really think that most Blacks are like that? NO. I actually think more Blacks than Whites understand what it's like to be the object of prejudice. I do not agree that dark skinned or jewish minorities are as guilty as the American and Canadian light skinned minorities of racism.
In the town where I live, if I had to choose, I'd be on the side of the Blacks. But why should we have to choose? Why can't we just all get along?
Peace out, sister.
