Charlotte didn't kill the guy 30 some odd years ago it was Merriem and her friend that did and at the end Charlotte finds there whole plot to make her crazy and so that she put away and that Merriem can get her money buy pushing a large potted plant on them

Olivia DeHaviland did. Can't remember her name in the movie fthough. It also had Betty Davis, Joseph Cotton and Bruce Dern. Weird movie...........
