My mates told me that getting your tongue pierced is the best thing to do any life experieces out there?

Well, if your mate is a guy, the benefit seems like it is mostly for him. As for you, you can look foward to great pain, discomfort, thinking you look cool, talking funny like you have marbles in your mouth, messing up the enamel on your teeth or chipping them. Your body, your choice.
I can think of 100 other fantastic life experiences other than that tho' LOL

I'm 35 and I have had my tongue pierced for almost a year now. It was swollen for about a week but after that it healed very well. I went to a piercing place known for being sterile and clean.
The biggest benefit I've found is that the guys love it, think its cute when you play with it and it is an attention getter when you want it to be. I like being able to change it like my other jewelry. They have neon, jeweled, sparkle, glow in the dark, plastic, metal, resin and a huge variety of other fun tongue rings.
As for benefits to others. It can be fun to kiss with and tease. It can also be a sexual aide and there are vibrating and massaging tongue rings available also.

I have always wanted my tongue pierced, but my parents wouldn't let me, so I did it first thing when I moved out of the house... It turns out it hurt really bad, the swelling wouldn't go down, I left it in for two months, followed the care guideness to the letter, and finally went to the doctor, turns out I was allgeric to the steel. What ironary, but I must admit I want it pierced again, but I am afried of going through all that pain again.. best wishes to you, let us know how it turns out, -Lilth

The only benefit I can think of is men will look at your tongue instead of your chest when they talk to you. Other than that, tongue piercings erode your teeth, damage your gums and make you lisp.

okay, well i wanted to do it for years... i never did because i was afraid i would bust a tooth or something dumb like that and then realized one day i will be 40. and i will look back at all the things i havent done, the tongue thing would be at the top of my list... so i did it, and i love it.. i busted a back tooth last night... never had a cavity in my life and i did something so dumb... but i still have the jewelery in my mouth, i cannot leave it alone, only benfit is it is all mine and i love it, lol.

No way. There are no benefits of tongue piercing. It's sick and disgusting. Maybe you can even contract something from it. I wouldn't suggest doing it. It may look cool, but there are probably more consequences and yea...

You know what would suck? Eating once you got your tongue pearced. Could you imagine how you'd have to learn how to eat all over again? Sounds like a lot of trouble.
