You cant really put a time frame on it because everyone learns differently...and it really depends on how much good practice you get and whos teaching you....as long as you are patient and careful it shouldnt take too long maybe a year to get comfortable and then another year or two to be a good driver.

Practice in an empty parking lot and drive as much as you can and I'm sure you'll do fine. Some people are naturals and catch on right away and some people take a little longer but I wouldn't think that it would take too long for you to learn how to drive.

I took drivers ed in high school, that was about 3 months long..just need to practice driving everyday..
