I think a soul mate is someone with whom you have a very positive soul connection from other lifetimes. Most of our significant relationships (family etc.) are, in fact, soul mates in that we go through multiple lifetimes with them, but I think we feel strongest about certain individuals.
I think my sister is a soul mate. I remember when she was born I knew she would be my dearest friend, even though we are 9 years apart. And we've only gotten closer over the years. I think my son also may be, and that's a bit of a surprise. But as he's gotten older we seem to have very strong nonverbal understanding of each other, and tremendous mutual support. My daughter and I have it a bit rockier, but I sense we are healing much this time around, and we are close as well.
I haven't met my romantic partner soulmate yet, and hope that we might cross paths before this life is done.

i dont believe in one single soul mate. there are many people that you meet throughout your life that complete you in different ways. not just in romantic means either. not to mention, the person that you think may be your "soul-mate" when you are 20 years old, may no longer complete you by the time you are 50.

well i would describe him as someone who would treat me like I was his life earth and everything in it! he would also have to be smart,cute,funny,and everything you need!
