Even though the parents (and relatives) are not Italian?
Or would that be strange?

Bianca means "White" in Italian.

Its ironic to know the definition of "Bianca" when the 3 I've known of are not white or Italian! I truely feel that a baby really "fits" the name. So...have 2 or 3 favorites ready and see what she looks like. Also, don't forget to think of names she might be called by her peers. For example Bianca the bionicle. Stand in your livingroom and "call" to her as if she were in her room. Listen to how it sounds. A rule of thumb is to NOT name your child with the last letter of the first name being the first letter of the last name. Example: Bianca Adams, Bianca Andrews, Kim Mathews, Carl Lloyd. So there ya go. Hope I didn't overwhelm you. :)

I think that's a cute name...here some info about that name just for you from me....

BIANCA
Gender: Feminine

Usage: Italian

Italian cognate of BLANCHE(Means "white, fair" in French.). Shakespeare used characters named Bianca in 'The Taming of the Shrew' and 'Othello'.

I like that name...

Hopefully I can help you happy choosing and take care...

Dee

I think its pretty and exotic, but maybe if you dont have any southern European backround you should chose a different name. It would just make more sense if her name was connected to her heritage. I suggest you look up some names from your own backround. However, If you are set on Bianca, i have no objections.

Our neighbor's teenage daughter's name is Bianca and she is happy with her name. She is pretty, popular and makes good grades too! If you like the name, go for it and may it be a blessing to your daughter!

I don't think it's strange at all...it sounds like a strong name to me. I recommend having a few names ready that you like because once you see that baby you never know. We totally changed our daughters name when we saw her because she had a "look" that didn't suit the name we picked.
To sum up...name her whatever you want!! You're the one who has to go through labour...best of luck!

name her Bianca if you like the name. Bianca is very popular in Romania and i wouldn't choose it for my kid, but if it's not very popular where you live, it would be very special.so go for it!

I love it! It sounds very elegant and would look professional on a business card. To me, the name even sounds a little romantic. Love it, love it love it!

It's your decision, but I don't personally like the name. I think it comes with a stereotype of snottiness in our society.
