My dad is left handed and plays bass. He wanted the top of the line and he was told to go with Fender. He was able to get a left handed base from Fender made for him. It sounded Awesome!!! Then again, that was 15+ years ago, I'm sure times have changed.

it all depends on what kind of music you want to play. different basses have different tones and it is all preference. if anyone tells you differently they are biased as to what they play and that may not be what you are looking for. go to your local guitar staore and check out a bunch before you make a decision!

Rics are the best, if you like metal esp/ltd is king, and fenders are overpriced!

Carvin....they are light,easy to play,and virtually indestructable...ya can have them made with your opitons(colors,woods,pickup options...etc)...and you can play ANY style music with them
