I don't believe there can be an undisputed king because people have their own personal tastes in music, plus there's such a huge generation gap between Elvis's hey day in the 50's and rock music of today, there's just no way to fairly compare the two. If your solely going by timeline to make your determination then I guess Elvis would take the crown. Otherwise, I don't think it's possible to crown one person as the king of all rock.

T.I. is the king of rap but Elvis has been the only king of rock and roll that I have ever known (but dont go by me I am sure that there are more)

Yes...because when Elvis came along, there WEREN'T so many genres of rock. There was no grunge, no emo, no acid rock, no heavy metal...just rock and roll. (Which all the old folks considered "devil music", naturally.) So...like other pioneers...Elvis will always be the king.

He will always be the king of rock. There wouldn't be rock & roll as we know it without Elvis, the rock genre didn't exist before him.
