It exists but not for the reasons being pushed by some people. This is a cyclic event and seems to occur about every ten thousand years. The last one happened to be a reversal and we ended up with an ice age instead.. but one must consider, we are still coming out of that ice age. There is much evidence around the globe to establish there has been global warming in the past (more than once) yet we are trying to be convinced it is caused by people.. where were the people during the last 2 cyclic events??

Theres always going to be those in denial, those who stick their heads in the sand simply because they don't wish to deal with such a scary thing, and it is scary but to more sad than anything else. Theres also those who just don't care-that the bad stuff when it does come it'll be after they've died, long gone so why worry about it,not their concern , leave it to those who'll be here then. Naturally the most of those in denial are so because its more convenient-if its not really real , well then life can go on,no change-sacrifices need not be made. Big Business, Industry especially would like it to just go away for the changes required to stop the escalation are not cheap and naturally money, greed matter more. One would think they'd work feverishly to save the planet just to preserve their wealth. The Government has finally acknowledged that it is real but still not fully admitting just how serious it is and still not putting the blame where it belongs-man. I remember years ago when hairspray, aerosol sprays were identified as some of the culprits and one individual proclaiming loudly that she'd never stop using hairspray-no matter what. Those same self centered words are expressed by those denying or downplaying the seriousness of it. Spoiled Brats

Here is the problem, most scientists that promote global warming don't even specialize in climate science. When you start digging, you can find climate scientists who disagree with this, based on evidence, looking at the broader picture, not just the regional effect. Other times you can find data that suggests that we do have periods of warm and cold. One of the warmer periods was when the Vikings settled in Greenland. Back then, it was much warmer and vegetation was more plentiful in Greenland (and this happened way before the industrial age), anyway, as the climate got colder, the Vikings did not adapt and that's why Greenland isn't heavily populated by the descendents of Vikings today.
What I particularly find incredulous is how they try to pin it on mankind. It's all speculation, there is no hard evidence and they never include cycles that the Sun is going through either.

The Earth goes through an ice age every 10000 years or so.... we are due for an ice age. Before every ice age is a period of warming. Basically the scientists are haggling over the cause and the potential for long term irreverable warming trend that will make earth like mars.
If there are people our there that believe the earth is flat, the moon landing was staged and that the governement planned 9/11 then I would not be surprised if there were people that believed that there is no warming.

Back in the 1970s, people thought we were going through global cooling. While our world is going through a warmer cycle, I am not convinced we know why and if it's naturally or man-made. Reducing polution and emissions is always a good thing, but I am not totally sold on global warming.
We were told this year would have violent hurricanes partially from global warming. It never happened. That doesn't prove their isn't global warming, but it shows how unexact science can be.

I for one think that global warming is a farce. What I don't get is why so many people believe it. It seems to me that the believers tend to be flaming liberals.
Michael Chrichton also believes it all to be crap, read his book State of Fear. The book is a fiction, but at the end he tells his views of it all.
The funny thing is that the people in belief of all the global warming hype look at a certain heat wave, or a particularly bad hurricane season as definite proof, while here in NorCal we are 10 degrees below the normal temperature for this time of year. You can't look at something so big, so close. IT IS NOT GETTING WARMER.

Umm it's not,as bad as the left wing radicals want you to believe it is... It has always been there, and always wil be there. Holes in the ozone layer happen like once every year or so... It's like where the gasses go up and create a small hole, or holes. It is caused by the some sort of warm air cold air, thingy... I don't exactly remember. but the earth has only warmed up less then 5 degrees since like 1900 somthing when they actualy started documenting the earths tempeture...*shrugs* who we have much more important things to worry about, the earth has changed climates for thousands of years..... Like there was a time during the dark ages where Europe was really really cold, we see this in the tapestries and paintings left behind... But its gotten much milder there since then... So...Believe what you want..

The current regime in the U.S. has the head-in-the-sand outlook on that particular issue.
The majority of the scientific community maintains that enough credible evidence exists to validate global warming is in fact a legitimate phenomena.

Global warming is simply one of Earth's natural occurances. Appears that they no longer teach science in school because so many people repeat unproven, unscientific facts on the subject.
I fear Al Gore much more than I fear global warming.

basically the government tries to pretend like it doesn't exist so as not to create a panic and also so that the gov't wont look like it hasn't done anything to stop it (which it hasn't). hence the title of al gore's very interesting documentary 'an inconvenient truth'. anyone who believes global warming doesn't exist needs to open up their eyes and look the hell around.
