Google Earth does updates periodically on specific areas. As they do their updates the areas get more detailed. A lot of areas haven't really been photographed yet so they just appear a blurry mess. Eventually they plan to make it so you can see all the details...If I look up my house i can see the trees in my yard and the car in my driveway. Apparently they haven't gotten to you yet.

In my experience with Google, Earth, you can only get so close.. you can't zoom in to see detail, which is kind of a drag.

Unfortunately, you're not looking at a real time view but an archived image and the resolution isn't exactlythe best; because, then the file size would be gargantuan! Ergo, there's no point in your "zooming in".
Cheers

This is a result of our government's insistence!
Supposed the terrorists, could see every secret detail of all of our top secret facilities. Believe
me when I say, our cameras on our satellites,
can probably zoom in and read the numbers on a license plate!

Nope. If you zoom as close as it goes, you get the picture in as high resolution as provided by G-earth.

no, becuase they don't take really good pictures for that... some places you can zoom into it really close, but not close enough to make out details on a house or something... if it was on the roof you might be able to...
