is one of the main reasons why so many marriages end in divorce? Shouldn't we try to find the person of our dreams first?

This is me right now, I've settled once, but do not want to settle again.

Ya unfortunately it takes trial and error sometimes to findout what really makes you happy. I was married for ten years to someone I thought(well, hoped I could turn into) was my soul mate. Well he did not agree. Left and found my actual soulmate.

The reason so many marriages end up in divorce is because we constantly are changing and growing ourselves. It is how the couple deals with each other's changing that determines the longevity of marriage. Sometimes people feel as though they've grown more than their partner and decide that it just isn't working for them---they need more out of life and the other partner isn't living up to their expections. You will always be going after your dreams and goals---but the real challenge is understanding why someone isn't going down the same path as yourself and if you're willing to accept it.

The problem is that people don't get to know each other before they get married. They rush into marriage to fast. Some do settle especially men. They will hold on to a woman just for the booty and then dump her when someone better comes along. People need to get to know each other really well before living together, having kids and especially marriage.
