purpose of car: needs to be a resonable/low price. needs to be able to be "suped up". mainly for driving around town and maybe a few roadtrips.

Sedans: Saturn, 14 years and still running. The new Aura is the best-rated midsize sedan (It beat the Camry by 1 star at the least)

Wagons: Saab. Thier pretty much upscale Subarus, thier built with the same platforms and stuff.

Vans: Honda. They've won best minivan practically every year

SUV: Jeep and Land Rover. Jeeps are all around great, but nothing beats a Range Rover.

Fullsize SUV: Chevy Suburban. Thier really nice.

Pickup Truck: Dodge Ram, Bigger is better. More reliable, comfortable, and powerful than anything else.

Luxury: BMW. Thier cars are good looking, which is why they beat Cadillac (but I love the Escalade)

I have a Saturn. It gets great gas mileage, it is roomy for a small car. The repairs have been minimal and easy to afford when they are needed. My car is a 2001 and I drive a lot for work. It has been affordable, comfortable, and rides nice. When I wear it out I will replace it with another Saturn. It has over 100,000 miles on it now and still going strong. And it is American made :)

well....depends on wht aspect and for what purpose.
Lets stick to purpose of a vehicle, it takes you from one point to another. TOYOTA makes great cars, priced resonable, low maintenance costs, does not break easily.

Honda/Toyota. Afordable, reliable, great resale. A bit boaring but hey at least it won't break down, run like crap, or be given crap by dealer when it needs repair like GM, Ford.
