States differ, but in general, unless its a high profile game, its fine. In Texas, for example, the State has a very mature attitude with regards to home gaming. As long as you are: 1) playing in a private residence, that is a game that is not open to the public, 2) all players have equal odds of winning (as in Hold'em), and 3) there are no rake or session fees, then play away. Most other states are probably similar.

If you have lots of people and they are parking in front of your house and your neighbors house, you might get into trouble.

If cars are parked recklessly then neighbors will call the police. That's when police gets involved.

As long as you are not taking any membership fees, as long as the house is not taking any rake on the hands, as long as the players are playing fairly and don't cause any disturbance to the neighbor hood, then it's fine.

Your house is private. Police has no right to break in unless there are forces outside the house that will allow them to investigate.

It all depends where you live. Iowa permits social gambling, but only to the the extent that a player may win or lose no more than $50. In Michigan, it's OK at a home for senior citizens. Here's a summary of state gambling laws. They're all different and some are really unique!

I don't think so. I think you can, as long as it isn't in the thousands of dollars.
