Guns are inanimate objects. Do trees kill people? Kitchen knives? Pencils?
Get this right, and please try to understand: guns are not inherently dangerous. They are machined chunks of metal and wood and plastic. Human beings load them, point them and operayte the mechanisms that make it work.

PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! Sometimes, it is justified.

Both. The gun, a non living object by itself can not kill a person though. I have yet to see a gun, sitting on a desk or in a box, stand up, point to a person or persons and fire a shot fatal or otherwise.

So, it would have to take a human being to pick up the gun sitting on a desk or in a box to point the gun and shoot said person or persons fatally or otherwise.

If the gun had never been invented, I am sure some other object would be used to kill.

People kill people, of course! If a person in the US, or other countries, for that matter, wants to kill someone, they immediately think of a gun. That is because of the availability of guns. If gun control were more strict, would it decrease murder? I think it would for a while, but then people would change their way of thinking. They would become more resourceful, using knives and drugs, etc, and murder would soon increase again.

I would like you to think for just a moment.

Did anyone ever kill anyone else before guns were invented?

YES ! In fact the Catholic church had the Inquisition, and what about the crusades. King's armies went to battle with knives swords, bows and arrows, catapaults, mace's, battle axe's, chains, bola's, gurrats. Even a wood club, and throwing rocks.

People were boiled in oil burned at the stake, hung, drawn and quartered, drug behind a horse till dead, drown, beheaded.

The real count dracula who's name was "Vladmire" was also know as Vladmire the impaler. Would use wooden poles to impale his living victims and have them stuck in the ground with the person up in the air slowly dieing.

Guns have only made killing cleaner, and faster.

Remember King Henry the VIII ?

Guns by itself cannot hurt people; sadly, guns makes it more convenient for people to kill more people faster and deadlier.

It's actually men (and women) who's hands pull the trigger and aim on someone else that kill people. Inanimate objects can't do it!
