Because it is against the law! You have to consume it in a place that has a liquor license OR at your own place of residency. People use the bag to hide the can, so they won't get a ticket for having an open container or possibly being "drunk in public". Now we are even banning alcohol on our public beaches & city parks. Many people don't act nice when they drink alcohol & our government thinks it may cut down the crimes committed while "under the influence"!

WELL I GUESS IT KEEPS PEOPLE FROM BEATING EACH OTHER IN THE HEAD WITH BEER BOTTLES...LOL AFTER THEY HAVE HAD ONE TO MANY...LOL...THAT STUFF REALLY HAPPENS.....I'VE SEEN IT HAPPEN....EVERYBODY HAPPY THEN CONK ON SOME ONES HEAD...SAD STUFF...YES WE SHOULD ALL BE ABLE TO DRINK IN PEACE!

You can do it only in Las Vegas.
Most cities have laws that you can't have open liquor in public.
