Is it real and is it legal if so what is the website? I have seen a lot of adds for this and think it would be cool to try.

It's real and I don't think it's illegal.
I have done one for the radio stations I listen too, what times, how often,where I was and then sent the information back I recieved $3.00 for my time. And a cereal testing where I rated the cereal they sent, weather I saw or heard any commercials. I think it's a hit or miss kinda thing but whenever I find them I try and do them. I don't have a regular web site for these but when viewing if they ask a question I usually just answer. Good luck & have a good day!

If you're talking about software, then you mean beta testing. And that can be achieved by contacting the company.
If you're talking about testing actual physical products. I have not seen those ads. And I do believe it's a scam to get people's information.
