Actually, studies have shown that even a glass of wine a day is fine and healthy for development. BUT, the key word is ONE glass not any more.. so, about 6 oz. a day.

I personally would only do it every so often and it's certainly not going to hurt if you never drink wine.

Do some research on the internet.

BTW - Kids in European countries drink wine and they turn out fine.

My advice is; when you're the one who's pregnant then you can skip the wine. Let it go. Not having an Aunt in this baby's life will hurt a lot more than a glass of wine a day while in the womb. Her doctor says its fine. It will be fine.

Most doctors are going to tell you and/or your sister that a glass of wine a day is not going to hurt your sister or the baby. As long as she is not drinking the whole bottle she is fine. Ask your own doctor if you are still having questions.

If she has always had a drink of wine, there is no harm in continuing it.
It would not be a good idea to start drinking once pregnant however.
I think she will be okay by following her Doctor's guidance.

If it is a small glass (2-3 ounces) then it is fine.

My friend has 7 (count'em 7) kids, drank a small glass of wine each day every day with her dinner.

Each one is a straight A student. One graduated from law school. One in med school.

Let her know you're concerned for the baby's health and leave it at that. She's passing the really crucial stage anyway, so she'll probably be fine. If her doctor says it's okay, you're probably not going to get through to her. Say your peace and hope for the best.

I say better safe than sorry. When you are pregnant you are supposed to be looking out for the best interest of your baby. If you wouldn't give a newborn wine, then you shouldn't consume it when you're pregnant.

I wouldn't. You just never know. One glass of wine to an adult may not feel like anything, but to a baby who weighs a matter of ounces - it's a lot.
