With that much area you could step it down to have levels in your yard and stairs to segment your yard, using existing dirt to fill in other areas. Or you could fill it all in with extra dirt and still need a retaining wall to stop erosion at the stream. Either way you go it will be expensive. Stepping down may be cheaper but require a little more work which in the end will look better and raise the value of the home.

I would plant algerian ivy as it won't let the weeds come in....don't know your zone...but algerian takes southern sun but not west sun...and english ivy takes no sun..... Another good one is wedelia with bright yellow flowers for sloping hills, but is not vigorous to fight the weeds.....creeping jenny is an evergreen that is a wonderfu lime green and loves the water and staying wet in low lying areas...don't get anything to tall...won't be pretty over the area....mints are always wonderful even though they freeze in winter (don't know your zone)...

I recommend that if you need to fill it in you need to be talking to the trucking company to get dirt not some on-line chatting thing. YOU need 2334 cubic yards and a dozer.
