It's like picking your favourite kid of the two you have. I'll have to say American as that is who influenced all the British groups to begin with, with blues and early rocknroll.

I love all of it. BUT, I think there was so much hype in the US about the British music "Invasion" that it tended to get more attention back in the day. I personally have never worried too much about WHERE the music came from, only if it is quality or not.

Americans. I like the motown sound. It was the best music of all. Oh, and I am white girl.:-) Motown had the besssssssssst beat and it is still going strong on some radio stations. love it

I dont think there was a best. Both had equally great songs for different times. It depends on what you see as the best. There is lots of great music now too
