my best friend called me and asked if i can b in her band. i said yes. problem is i dont like the name she chose 4 our band, and i think it sounds 2 strange. i dont wanna hurt her feelings, but i dont know wat 2 tell her.

give her some suggestions of your own and see if she likes those better. if she doesnt, then take the original name of the band and tweak it a little bit so it's not strange but still has her tastes in it. After all, it is her band, but if your a member of it you should get a say so in the name of it.

does she know that you already know the name or would you get away with do a "hey i figured out a good name how about (name)?" then they might thake a hint
if not just tell them straight up that its bothering you
