The fast food industry is not appealing at all to me. So by working at a clothing store such at Abercrombie, those people can avoid working at McDonald's or another place like that and work in a place where there is no grill or fry basket in sight. If you also like clothes, or enjoy helping other people pick out clothes, Abercrombie is a good place of employment to choose. It could be because of the coolness factor but that is for the applicant to decide.

Not all of them... I worked there for like a week but I didn't really know that it was popular or whatever. I worked at the register but barely anyone went in there so it was basically getting $8 an hour for doing nothing.

They want to go deaf and sue A/C in the future.
The loud music also helps them snub customers, they are not walking around ignoring you to look cool, they really don't know that the customers are there. The loud music interferes with brain function and that too assists that nose-in-the-air appearance, after several hours of it they have the effect of being stoned-by-sound without the expense (they can't afford drugs anyway, low pay) and potential legal entanglements. Quite a deal, eh?

OMG! I really do think that too. And the girls that work there, I think they do it for discounts on clothing. But yes they make min. wage just as they would in fast food.

My guess, and this would be purely common sense, is that they want to make some money and probably like the clothes there.
