Sir Elton John hopes Whitney Houston will start rebuilding her career now she has separated from husband Bobby Brown, because she stands a better chance at sobriety away from the R+B bad boy.
John, who has battled his own drink and drugs demons, believes Houston is at a pivotal crossroads in her fight against addiction.
He tells US TV show Access Hollywood, "Bobby's not good for her because of the addiction thing but she keeps going back. Drugs don't make you think straight, drugs make you completely unreasonable.
"I sincerely hope she has a chance now because she's away from him, because she certainly was never going to get better with him."
