Okay, if republicans do not hate gay people, why do they care if they get married or not? I'm for gay rights.

Republicans do not hate gay people. Where did you get that idea?

Republicans despise those who victimize others, so Foley will get what's coming to him. It is a certainty that if Foley were a Democrat he would be protected, even by the media, and this would be a matter of 'personal privacy'. Democrats are held to a much lower standard than Republicans.

Regarding 'gay' rights. Republicans believe gay people should have the same 'rights' under the law as anyone else. They are okay with 'civil unions' in general, giving gay people the same civil benefits as heterosexual married couples. However, Marriage is a function of Religion (co-opted by Government with licenses, fees, etc.) and should be only under the jurisdiction of the Church. Government has no authority to bully the Church into marrying people against the Church doctrine. Some churches marry gay people, others do not. It is not the business of Government to intrude.

What Conservatives recognize is that Socialists invariably take Government control over religion to then subvert and eventually remove religious authority altogether. Socialists create a system in which the State is the master, quite contrary to our Republican form of government in which authority flows from God to The People then to public servants. So, Conservatives are working hard to preserve our Rights and Founding Principles by preventing Government control over religion.

I know a few gay Republicans - they hate being trashed by Democrats who cannot understand them due to Democrats' believing their own disinformation.

Why do so many Democrats who claim to like gay people seem disgusted by a gay Republican?

Why do so many Democrats who claim to like Black people seem disgusted by a Black Republican?

Why do so many Democrats who claim a woman has the right to choose what a woman can and cannot do to her body also say you don't have the right to smoke- even outside?

Why do so many Democrats who claim the rich should pay more taxes appear to exempt their Hollywood friends in their contempt?

Democrats want the country to do as they say, not as they do- oh, wait...that's called being a hypocrite.

The answer to your question is simple: Republicans don't hate gay people- most, however, feel homosexuality is wrong...Democrats would have you believe homosexuality is no different than being African-American- a trait you are born with. Republicans would rather you believe homosexuality is a choice.

If you feel that it isnt a choice- that you are "born" that way, then you are being extraordinarily hypocritical of Foley, who acted on his feelings (but to what extent we do not yet know),

Maybe it's the lingering spirits from when teen prostitutes used to visit the White House bedrooms during Bush Senior's Administration. Or the male prostitute who two years ago posed as a sympathizing reporter in the Bush White House Press Room. The press raised their eyebrows and went back to being Bush's lapdogs. But they did dig around and found a prostitution website with the man's name and photo in leather, and learned that he'd visited the White House over 100 times. Hmmmm. The stories are going to be WILD when these guys are kicked out of office!

I found they do not hate gays...in fact, during the Bush campaign I met many gay people who were working on his campaign and were either true Republicans or mid-way. If they elect gays is because like the Democrats, they want to give everyone a chance in their government --- duhhhh! Just because they are gay does not make them dumb or crazy....they are just like anyone else and want what is best, just like anyone else. I was surprised though, when I met so many gays during the campaign.

There are more Democrats than Republicans. When a Republican gets elected, it very well could be that some voters voted for the candidate, not the party. Besides When a candidate is running for office, there are often facts about the person that the voters don't know about at that time.

Are you a gay brasher?? It was not the republicans that pardoned one of their members for sexual abuse of a teenager. Why not ask Barney Franks what his party is. They said the dummcrats asked that a poll be taken of the gay community in congress then as usual changed their mind. Could it be they found there are more gays in the dummycratic party then the republican?? How a person like their sex is their business as long as the person they do it with is old enough. Period.

Gay people hide the fact they gay when they go into politics. There was a book written by one who was in politics, but can't remember his name. He repented later. Look at the library.

It has been my observation that it is the Democrats that are always pointing out the differences among people.. they seem positively obsessed with grouping people into some minority or another. Why can't they just look at people as equals?
