Not having any "boys" I can't speak from personal experience, but since I have a husband and son who do have them, I read with an interest an article dealing with this subject. It didn't say you would become impotent, but you would have decreased sperm count. The article recommended that a man keep the laptop off his lap for any extended amount of time.
The same thing goes with a guy spending time in a hot tub. The heat kills off the sperm and it can take months before the level is back up to par.
I guess it makes sense--if heat kills bacteria, what must it do to your little guys?

Can't say for certain, but if your trying to have a baby I'd avoid it.
I also wouldn't consider a laptop good birth control either though.

In general, don't sit anything heavy on top of your balls for long periods of time. It's just not a smart thing to do. A laptop is not hazardous to your 'nads in general, so don't toss it. No pun intended.
