note: range is a very dull term. it doesn't describe the charactersitics of the data set, nor it doesn't depend on the values inside the data.
For example, my largest # in the data is 576 and the smallest is 114, but i have 123 data values. the range doesn't show to us how the values disperse, how big is the data, etc...
