you've gotta listen to other people speak it, and then imitate them exactly. (so long as they do it correctly, lol)

And remember, "Perfect practice, makes perfect"

Force yourself to always do it right, and it'll get easier over time. It worked for me. I used to speak russian, but now nobody would know.

I hope i can help. This is my experience. I was always conversing using my mother tongue but now its more balanced in a way. I first got more interested in English movies, a mere introduction by my friend, then i listen to English songs. But the better way is to find yourself an author whom you find his or her style of writing understandable and interesting. For me, i began reading Agatha Christie's crime series. Then i took a liking for English sitcoms and ouh, Simpsons. In other words, you just have to expose yourself and dont forget to read the papers and make sure you find the meanings to every bombastic or "chim" words you come across. I also got a close friend who speaks standard English and i guess i was influenced too. I think you should start adopting a new way of talking, like dont say 'laa' or 'sia' in everything you say. Work hard and one day you will get what you want. Good luck

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of online courses which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt
