Oh yeah... very much......
if you're getting your ear pierced, here's a little warning, many most of my female friends think it's gay getting your earlobe pierced. they did find the combination of my left eyebrow pierced and the upper part of my right ear pierced, though! (warning, piercing earlobes are much less painful compared to spiking your ear cartilage)

Yes it hurts very much let's say you go and donate blood frequently at your local blood bank the needle is huge but they only stick it about 1/8 of an inch through your arm in order to get blood. Ear piercing uses a much smaller needle but hurts about ten times more. Why? This is because unlike going through your arm they put the needle in your ear which has much more nerves. Also they don't stick it a little way through you ear they stick it all the way through your ear. And if that isn't enough to change your mind some places use non-sterile needles which are used again and again for every person. And even though they think they have solved the issue of cross blood contamination they haven't and it is still possible to get AIDS which kills you at one point or another.

I've had my ears pierced twice (2 different places in each ear), and my nipples. I have to say that the ears hurt worse than the nipples (nipples didn't hurt at all), but it's really not that bad. The higher up on the ear you pierce it, the more it's going to hurt though.

Yeah. Take a needle and press it against your skin really hard, but not hard enough to punture. If that hurts, the pain of getting pierced straight through would be alot more.

Yes, but only for a little bit. You also have to clean the newly pierced hole, with hydrogen peroxide, on a regular basis, until it heals up, and the hole is permanent.
