If you believe this please explain how the Democrats were able to find the facts about the story and the Republicans were not? If Democrats are better at finding such information about Republicans, wouldn't Democrats also be better at finding information about terrorists?

Fordham, contrary to popular opinion is not a Republican. he is a professional politician. They have no party loyalty, they understand the way things work in the beltway and become the power behind the power. Ever lobbyist knows to get to a politician you need to get past the professional.
Fordham resigned and released a lot of unprovable accusations knowing that the new wave of politicians arriving on the Hill in January will need new office staff. the Democrats, who look to win big will need the staff and senior members will shed some of their staffers, creating opening at the top for the ilk of Fordham.
He will have a job for the next session of congress, for a Democrat. People like Fordham know all the dirt, and they share it inside their tight circles. When the time is right they release it, sometimes to the highest bidder.

Fact is, it was an election plot. The administration (notice I did not say republicans) new this crap for almost 10 months. The Democrats knew for almost five. Instad of busting him out like they should have in the first place, they let him continue to sexually harass a page. (16 is age of consent, so he cannot be charged with anything regarding a child)
The democrats are just as guilty as Foley for holding this information and letting the page continue to be harrased. All in the name of votes. Very sad. No moral standing on either party.
For Reba K - I can easily get online and post more than a hundred democrats that raped, molested, attacked children. I can even post democratic Presidents that pardoned child molesters. Your attempt to make it look as though republicans are the only ones tells me you are blinded by your political stance.
Bet you would hold onto information too if you thought it would get you a vote leaving some poor child or individual molested or harrased..

It's not as the IMs were floating around where any one could see them. They were 3 years old. They were saved and printed out, and got into the hands of a Democratic dirty tricks operative. They were kept out of the news until the worst possible damage could be done to the Republican Party. If the Democrats *really* cared about the well being of the Pages, they would have released them months ago. It's dirty tricks politics... SOP for Dems... This in no way excused the actions of Folley. But his accusers are dirty also.

Democrats are supposed to be represented by the symbol of a donkey, not a pig. Leave the mud alone.
If the IMs were dated 2003 and this is 2006, why wouldnt we suspect someone timed this? Is it worth an investigation? I say it is- it certainly cost someone a career. He has a right to know his accuser- and if it's a Democrat, they should also resign for the sake of the Democratic party...because that is no way to do business- and for a party looking to gain the trust of the American people, that is about the least diplomatic thing you can do to an opponent...and you feel we should trust you for foreign policy? HA!

for years and think that he would not get caught! As I heard it, a page complained about his conduct. I don't know if he was a Democrat or a Republican, but you just can't assume it was the Democratic Party. Good Riddence!

Good question. I think Foley should have been put on suspension when they found the first email to be overly freindly. Then they could have done an ivestigation. Sorry, but any old man being friends with a 16 year old.... that is just wrong. i don't care what party you support, it's wrong.. period!

No the Dem's don't care about the terrorists, their more worried about getting in office. And they will play every dirty trick in the book. They have been after bush and the Republician party for 7 years, and the Democratic liberal media will not let this go, they are running it into the ground, I am sick of hearing about Folley.

What they did was blow the story up and hide the facts. I think the party that pardoned a sex offender who was chastised by the congress then gave him a standing ovation has no place trying to blame republicans for not pursuing another nut case that made it to congress. Why not ask why Clinton pardoned a convicted sex offender ??

The repuglicans are just trying to divert the blame to the democrats. Bottom line it wasn't the repuglicans that did these things it was congressman Foley, telling on him would be the right thing to do. Now the cover up if there was one is purely a repuglican thing.

Democrats found out by pumping (literally) the pages for information.
And Democrats do get info on terrorists --- they just won't allow the intelligence agencies to share it, their Presidents won't accept top terrorists handed to them on a silver platter, and nobody like to rat out their friends.
