I had a house guest with a dog, after they left, I discovered fleas in my home, how can I get rid of them for good, doing it the safest and and cheapest way possible.

Eat them, they do contain protein and tell them thanks for the free lunch. Nooo, I'm kidding you need one of those at home house bombs from the store. Won't the person who had the dog in your home buy you one? they should, I would nicely ask. If not they are cheap anyway, get 2 incase 1 don't do it. So wrap up your food in plastic set off the bomb according to directions and let the death of the blood suckers begin. Then when you enter the house keep good ventilation and clean everything well to get up the bomb residue and dead fleas.

The very best way (without hiring an exterminator), send in the dogs! It may sound nasty, but they'll jump on board, then send the doggy outside for a bath! P.S. Spray your dog w/flea & tick spray AFTER the bath!

probably a flea bomb. or two. you will have to evacuate your house for a few hours, but the 'fog' will reach every nook and cranny and (supposedly) kill the fleas and their eggs.
