First let me say that I'm too much of a "realist" sometimes. Whether that is a bad thing or a good thing *shrugs* I don't know. But I've always approached Yahoo Answers as "life" just as I approach life outside of Y!A as..... "life." In other words..... I seriously see no difference. What I see happening here pretty much mirrors my life outside of this realm. In marriage, it does indeed start out so exciting and intriguing as you learn and grow and explore different things together. It was the same for me when I began YA. In marriage you do indeed for the first time in your life have limits and restrictions that you never had before. You made vows to stay loyal... to love... to honor and cherish. Cheating just should not enter into the picture ever. Hmmmmm...... seems we have those same restrictions on Yahoo Answers. Didn't we agree to follow the rules when we signed on? So as the years pass in marriage, so many changes occur, just as I've seen soooooo many changes in format here on YA. So you have two types of people here. Those that complain about the changes and have to grumble and mumble and make it known how disatisfied they are. And you have those that accept the changes, make a few alterations...... and keep plugging along without missing a beat. If they weren't happy with the changes, they know they can leave. Marriage is the same way. We accept the changes in one another and embrace them as we ourselves grow and change too. Sure, there are times when the change is too much..... and divorce is eminent. This is true in YA as well as many many people have left and gone their own ways. In marriage, life can get stagnated and uneventful. Gosh, how many times has this happened to me over the past year and a half? MANY. But look...... I'm still here. As in many marriages, we persevere. We work hard to find new approaches, new ways to find excitement, new things to explore. Again..... if we don't...... we get totally disenchanted with YA..... as we do with marriage. It's all about the approach..... it's all about philosophy of life. It's all how you see every aspect of your life. It is what you make it. I've fought to stay on YA. I fought to maintain a good marriage. Sometimes it works.... sometimes it doesn't. But the approach to both..... I find very much alike.
