I agree with you completely! I wish I could've actually been lucky enough to have been around when music actually had a MEANING! I'm only 16, so unfortunately I wasn't very lucky in that sense... Music really sucks nowadays, but maybe, just maybe, if we try hard enough, we can bring back the good stuff!!! Don't get me wrong, there are SOME good bands out there who actually know how to make music that lots of people can enjoy without sacrificing meaning for record sales... But for the most part it all sucks....
The older, better music may not be as popular now, but we can be sure of one thing: It will NEVER die!!!

A lot of old songs had lyrics about sex but they were disguised in such a way that it wasn't up front. In the song Penny Lane by the Beatles what exactly is a finger pie?
I just picked up the new Bob Dylan album and that was great. also the new Neil Young album is great and thought provoking. The Flaming Lips illicit the deepest of thinking on my part. Especially the lyrics:" do you realize that everyone you know some day will day"

Alot of old music is the same but its lyrics are said more toned down. I wouldnt say that thought provoking music is going to be gone forever because I happen to love Coldplay. Chris Martins lyrics could calm me down if I were mad. But there are other bands out there. Sounds like you are just referring to mostly hip hop. To me that type of music is a sign of the times. Life has changed alot since the 50's and right now we are at a time of war so I guess it is easier for them to sing about let me get your pussywet than children and families are dying and suffering around the world.

No, just don't listen to hiphop; meaning, don't listen to the radio. Try 30Secondstomars, The Academy is..., Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, the Pink Spiders, and other things along those lines. Well, a few of the Pink Spiders' songs are about sex, but they're good songs...

exceptionally lots it is! Makes me seem lower back at how lots i could have spent without extremely counting. Now, i'm having a rapid look at a passbook crammed with deposits? actual there have been withdrawals. uncertain how lots. I in simple terms used them with others --- not in a grasping, moved quickly way although. maybe at situations i got here across $86,4 hundred.00 / 86,4 hundred seconds even under i choose i ought to are starting to be to furnish away. i think of "time deposits" ought to be meaningfully "spent-lived",.. and not be "squandered-fed on" as though they have been an purely danger to eat on each and every thing.

I hope not! Though it is becoming far and few between where there is an artist who actually can tell a story without sex, drug, and violence references.
