my computer restarts for no reason and i was just wondering if there was a way to turn off autorestart? i appreciate any help i get. my computer is running on windows 98 se. not sure of the brand, but i think its a microsys, or msi

When shutting your computer off...Remove the dot/checkmark from restart..,place it into shut down

My first suggestion is to ditch Win98 and get xp sp2. But if you want to turn off the auto restart, when you restart the comp hold down the delete key and that will take into the BIOS setup. There is where you will find the setting for auto restart on blue screen errors. You probably have a driver conflict causing that. Win98 is notorious for that.

Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > uncheck "Automatically Restart"

you sure you dont have a virus. Most computers dont have a Auto Shutoff, unless u have it set in power options, Go to Control Panel, Then look for Power Options
