I know it will be hard, but the best way to help her is to answer any questions she may have truthfully. Don't hide death from her otherwise she may not be able to understand what is going on later in life. She will have a lot of questions. Also you may want her to put together a private memorial, just your family and her, where she can remember good times she had with her friends. Have her draw a picture or help her write a poem, just dont let her feel alone or confused.

You need to just explain to her that everyone dies at sometime, some die younger than others. Also tell her about what a beautiful place that heaven is and how happy her friends are. Make sure she knows that her friends are looking down on her.

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind)-
I asked Him to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And my friendship to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small-
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

That is really hard and I'm sorry for her loss. Most children know about god and angels. Tell her that her friends are with god now and the angels are watching over them. Take her to church to light candles for them and say a prayer.

Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy with your children. They're people too, and they deserve to know the truth.

Besides, she's facing the situation already. There's no logical sense in pretending it didn't happen. She knows her friends arn't around anymore, and her trust in you is on the line.

tell her that death is just the beginning, and that her friends are in a better place and that they have a spot in heaven. I'm not religious but that doesn't mean its not real.
