I'd rather not "handle them". But seriously, I think we have an extremely serious problem with pedophiles in this country. Prison doesn't appear to work and why should we expect it to. These people have an itch that won't simply go away. The sex drive that motivates adults to be with adults motivates these twisted people to crave children.
I'm afraid the solution is not one that Jesus would approve of, but I think we as a society have to evaluate the effectiveness of surgically treating this condition and turning off the "itch".
It may be the only way to get that monkey off of their back and help keep our innocent children a bit safer.

I don't follow the teachings of Christ, but I think pedophiles should be given intensive counseling, both individually and in group settings. Simple imprisonment does not ease or 'cure' any kind of internal, emotional issue.

Well if we wanted to be draconian with respect to keeping the punishment within the confines of Christ’s teachings, we would abide by a literal construal of the following passage:
“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.” (Matthew 5:29-20)
In essence if you wanted to be sadistic they would take Jesus at face value, and have the individual cut off the “appendage” of his body that is involved in the sinful act. That would eliminate any future occurrences of pedophilia from that individual.
Of course most intelligent people know that once those verses are subsumed within the broader context of Jesus’ teachings of compassion, that they are not meant to be taken literally.
In all seriousness, I would throw them in prison for life, while giving them work that makes amends to children who come from abusive environments. I would have them involved in manufacturing clothing, books, and other useful items for kids who were abused either sexually or through violence. We can ever redress an injustice as devastating as child molestation, but at least what I have mentioned above is a start.

How about castration with the round side of a rusty spoon. Barring that, simple execution by butt-rape will suffice.
