Usually it's the religious fanatics that try to shove their teachings down the throats of others and are very closed-minded: "We are saved, we are the chosen, all others are damned! I'm right & you're wrong!" This isn't a healthy way to be. Truly religious & spiritual people wouldn't be this way. God, no matter what you choose to call Him, is about love not hate. I'm a Christian but I'm open-minded & accepting of other faiths. Everyone is entitled to believe what works for them. So long as they are not hurting others, live & let live!

This is one of my pet hates...

I actually do not follow a "recognised religion" because there are simply not enough followers of this religion in my home country.

I simply think those that come to convert are more insecure then not. Alright, if I ask about your chosen beliefs, that is another matter.

The main point is interpraitation. Take The Bible for example. There are thousands, maybe hundereds of thousands of religions that use the bible as their basis, and each says that their interpraitation of it is the only one. This is where conflict begins, and where ultimately, where the mark of "evil" comes from - they don't believe what I believe, therefore, they must be evil, because they don't follow the "words of God" (in this case...you can think up of one for every religion)

The world would be a better place if there were more people like the ones who have answered already. Religion is not a set thing - it is how you interprait any "holy scripture."

well these people think that their religion is the only way and everybody else is wrong and out of touch with god well thier is only one true religion and thats the christian religion, it don't matter what church you go to or even if you don't go to church, it's not how your religion works, it's who your religion recognizes as the lord and savior, read the word of the lord and abide in the faith as you understand it, I am a expert on this subject.believe or not.I have photographs, of demonic energy, I 've studyed this stuff many years. for the anwser to your question, the more people that are brain washed in that particular church religion the more money it makes. it's about the money. and many people are brain washed from childhood, becaused of brain wash parents.just because you don't act or understand the exact same way as other, does not make you evil, individualism is what makes us human, and having love and respect and studing the lords word and abiding in the Christian faith, is the only religion,

I don't know about other religions, but Christians believe that what the Bible says is truth and that Jesus' is the only way. We are charged to spread the truth or Gospel(s) of the Bible to other people so they can have a fair choice. If we present the ways of Christianity to someone and they do not accept it, we are not supposed to judge that person. Only pray that God show them the truth.

I ask the same question. Like Jehovah Witnesses. They think that if they dont convert you then THEY will get punished for it. They just feel insecure and want other people to go down with them if there religion isnt true.

It's because they feel they found a better and more clear way. I dotn agree with those who try to "shove" it down ur throught. I however think its sometimes good to listen to those who are kind and understanding about it. u never know what they might have to offer. they -being religious- might have diff. insights on things and may have opened up their ees to things we just let fly by over our heads every day with out knowing it. it all depends on the way the person presents it. I am also against those who blame a certain beleif just because the actions or misconduct of one of their beleivers.

I am religious but I don't believe that people who are of other religions than mine are evil. I do believe that through observing my church's teachings one can be saved and missionary work is very important in my church because of that but we also believe that people need to be good, kind, helpful, honest, virtuous, faithful, humble, modest, repenting, loving (and the list can continue for ever). Heavenly father loves each of us and wants all of us to be happy. We are His children and because He loves us so much He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to be sacrificed for us so that we will all resurrect and have the chance to live with Him again. I love Him and I love all people. Knowing that we are all sons and daughters of God makes me so happy and reminds me that we all have divine worth.

You probably mean religious fanatics, not all religious people. Respectful and normal religious people don't do that. Fanatics are fanatics, what else can I say. Also, think of it this way: if people believe in something, they naturally think they are right. Naturally, they will look for support in everyone else around them. Also, they think this is the best for you because it seems the best for them.

Not all religious people feel that way. People who try to shove their religion down your throat are usually trying to convince themselves. There is a silent majority that knows that God is non-denominational and will eventually find most people.

Well, in Christianity at least, we don't really WANT people to go to hell, so we try and convert them so they don't. It's actually kind of a NICE thing to do. I'm very religious and I think about God a lot, and I've actually brought a few of my friends to church and see if they like my religion. I do it more subtle. I'd actually like to see my friends in heaven. :)
