Ok a few months ago we noticed this thing on the conrete in our backyard..it's like an X or something like it.
Well..a few days ago..the lock to our door stopped working..but the top one still does..But I think it's a gradual thing (hopefully) because it's been having a hard time closing and we have to spray cooking oil..lol..on it to make it open and close easier.
But the symbol especially is worrying me..we have an alarm system but still..what should we do?!?!

it's not in color..it looks like a pressure washing mark..it's sorta faded

First of all make sure your door locks. Temperature can cause the door to fit tight. Second change your locks to working ones. Its only $20. Third get motion lights for your door area so when somebody comes by they light up and if they don't belong there they should leave when they see the lights come on. Put stickers in windows saying you have a security system and a little sign in your yard, make it professional not hand written. If somebody likes your house and sees this they will know you know they are there and hopefully pull back. As far as the mark it could be kids playing with soap or oil that resists sun fading, dirt or whatever (lawn table with X shaped legs leaving a fade mark or something). I have never heard of someone doing this that is going to break into your house. Look for tampering evidence, if there are screwdriver scratches or the sort call the police.

get flood lights happening if you want to keep them away and or on motion sensors if you want to catch them. Get a gun I never used to have one but once you run into a freaky person and start dealing with the cops you will be told just how many freaky people are around you. You could also fence the back yard and get some mean rabid animal back there but i would rather have then it seems 1/2 dozen of one 6 of the other.

Is the symbol in orange or blue spray paint? Those are surveyors marks. As for the doors sticking, it sounds like the house might be settling. Get someone out to inspect your foundation.

call the police to see if they would drive by more often and stop at you house for a minute or two ( they all have paper work to do ) leave a radio or the t.v on . put up a motion light

Its probably an old well that is not in use.
The mark could be from locators, they mark stuff on the ground when surveyin.
