That completely depends on several factors--what make and model of car it is, how it has been maintained, the type of driver that used it, the type of conditions it has been driven in, etc. But for the most part, most cars aren't even broken in until around 50,000-60,000 miles. Most modern cars, especially those meant for commuting will run for several hundred thousand miles with few problems.

Easily. Many new cars aren't even do for a tune up until they get 100,000 miles on them although you have to keep the oil changed on a regular basis. I have a Chevy with 274,000 miles on it and it runs great and doesn't use oil. You have to maintain them using your owners manual as a guide on what to do and how often. Also the use of synthetic lubricants will make them last longer too and if you are going to keep a car that long or longer I wold suggest using them.

If it was kept in a garage, fully serviced and taken care of properly better than a badly taken care of car w. 10,000 miles; But, never worth much $$$ because insurance co's will only give you the book value, (which is v. low) on an old car if it gets written off and they are only worth what you can get. Age is the much more important factor than miles.

I had an '88 Ford Ranger pickup, with 140,000 miles on it. Gave it away, because i bought a '91 Ford Ranger pickup, with 171, 000 miles on it! Cost $500! Now has 183,000+ miles on it-burns no oil, has new brakes, new exhaust system, runs perfectly, starts every time, doesn't wear out tires very often, easy on gasoline!

It depends on how you treat them. a car can last well over 100,000 miles if the oil is changed regularly and routine maintenance is kept up.

Most certainly! Many taxis often achieve 500,000 miles as will any vehicle properly maintained. Mercedes Benz have a number of (privately-owned) vehicles that have achieved 1,000,000 kilometres.

Saab enthusiast and Wisconsin resident Peter Gilbert has reached one million miles (1,609,344 km) on his 1989 Saab 900 SPG.

It all depends on how it's driven and maintained. I've owned two with over 350,000 on them. Both were still running when I got rid of them.
