A docket is either a list of cases scheduled for some reason in a court on a particular day, or it is the list of actions in a case, from the filing of the action to the closing of the case.

A docket call is usually part of the first kind of docket. There may be some states or courts where a docket call is a review of the status of the case, to make sure it is still in play.
