because of all the high voltage in the station,and the metal roofs most of them have on them it causes a lot of static noises in any radio,even mine does it sometimes,but not all the time,,a lot of it depends on the weather and if its a cloudy day or not,but most radios will do it,good luck i hope this help,s.

In many cases, the metal roof overhead blocks the signal. When the signal gets weak, the automatic circuits in the radio turn the gain way up, and the static of all the lights and pumps and car spark plugs come booming through.

I see the same thing at some stop lights because of all the wires overhead.

The gas pumps communicating with the station electronics will cause interference. Also burglar alarms that are radio controlled will affect some radios. When my business band is scanning it will lock on a channel when I pull up to fuel

b/c there is some electrical stuff in the gas station that makes that happend and anyways if you are goign to fuel your car, your car has to be turn off or otherwise it will cought on fire and i'm not kidding i saw on tv
