Palestinians emigrate to the United States for the same reasons as almost everybody else: religious freedom, economic opportunity, educational opportunity, political freedom, ability to advance, security - the same reasons people have been emigrating to America since 1492.

I know a few of these guys [Palestinian immigrants] - good folk !

Remember, the 9/11 terrorists were here legally on student visas. Do NOT blame the Palestinian and Iraqi immigrants for these 19 nut-jobs.

As for where they settled, for some reason that escapes me, there is a huge Palestinian community in Detroit; another in Chicago, and another in the St. Louis area. Far from the oceans, perhaps??

Like immigrants from other regions of the world, Palestinians were drawn to the US by economic opportunities and security, and they settled where there were already established communities of Arab-Americans. A good overview article can be found at: http://www.everyculture.com/multi/Pa-Sp/Palestinian-Americans.html
Dearborn, MI is one such community, and the Palestinian component of that town is briefly described at: http://www.americancity.org/article.php?id_article=72 Economic and political reasons usually push people from their homelands, and so waves of Palestinian immigration to the US follow periods of violence in their homeland. If you feel the need to challenge yourself academically, here's a master's thesis that talks about Palestinians in an unexpected place: New Mexico : http://etd.lib.ttu.edu/theses/available/etd-07242006-161625/unrestricted/Monawar_Abdulrahman_Thesis.pdf#search=%22palestinian%20immigrants%22
Like other immigrants, Palestinians have formed a number of organizations. One of the oldest and most active is the American Federation of Ramallah. On its web site the page showing the group's chapters gives you an idea of the places where Palestinians have settled in the US. http://www.afrp.org/clubs.aspx
Hope this helps!

Uh, it's impossible to know which state they moved to. I can't sit here and say they moved to Indiana or to Mississippi...they probably moved all over the place. However, I can try to help you on the reason they came here. I believe it had a lot to do with the formation of Israel in 1947, a direct result of the Nuremburg trials and try to compensate the Jewish people for the horrific trials they went through during WWII. This land happened to be located in Palestine, however...and these two peoples have a long history of war with each other. For more on that, check out the Old Testament. Anyway, that's the best I can do with a beer buzz. Hope this helps you out.

You'll probably find a large Palestinian community in NYC. Their reasons for coming are pretty much everyone's reasons. Greater opportunities.

Those who have come legally to the USA probably see no point in fighting for poor land in a poorer economy when they can do better.
